A B O U T U S

Across it's thousands of years, wine had been put in hollow logs sealed with pitch, large clay amphora, goat bladders, animal hides and hand blown bottles, first with wood plugs and later with corks. Of all those, only the corks are still with us. Why? Because you have been convinced that cork is a sign of quality. Not so!

The June, 2006, issue of Wine Business Monthly (a major wine industry publication) ran a cover story on wine closure. This was a survey of wineries. In all categories screw caps were rated better than cork. Any wine maker who is seriously concerned about the safety and quality of the wine will use something other than cork. Screw caps are easier to open and much easier to re-seal if you don't finish the bottle in one sitting. As you have probably guessed, our wines use screw caps.
